National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

    The Special Olympics PEI office will be closed on Tuesday, September 30 as we observe National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

    Observed annually on September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day dedicated to recognizing and honouring the legacy of residential schools. It is a day to honour the survivors and the children who never returned home, along with their families and communities. This reflection is an important part of reconciliation. 

    In following the teachings of L'Nuey, "on the path to a brighter future for Epekwitk, for our home, we must reflect on the truth of the past". Special Olympics PEI remains committed to reconciliation and re-affirms the following Land Acknowledgement:
