Callum McEwan, Charlottetown, has been a Special Olympics athlete for 7 years. The Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 will be Callum's first World Games!

Callum joined Special Olympics to support his participation in the sport of Figure Skating, being drawn to the inclusiveness Special Olympics provides. A former coach of Callum's guided him towards Special Olympics. Callum credits Special Olympics with opening up opportunities and allowing him to follow a path that suites him.

"Before Special Olympics there was a time when skating practice stopped being enjoyable and the circumstances were no longer supportive. We changed my environment and had new people around me, and it is now better than ever. Sometimes a change in circumstance is needed to find your happiness."
    Callum McEwan

While Figure Skating is the only Special Olympics sport Callum participates in, he stays busy and active, participating in soccer, skiing, swimming, parkour and tennis.
