Tyson Brown is one of the newest athletes on Team PEI Soccer, and his impact on the team is already being felt!

Tyson joined Special Olympics just 3 years ago. Tyson lived in the same building as soccer teammate Shawn Mitchell, who suggested Tyson check out Floor Hockey. From there, Tyson also joined Soccer, and is now competing in his second Provincial Summer Games.

My favourite part about soccer is striking. Our games this morning (Friday morning Divisioning games) were fun. We won three games today

Team PEI Soccer team is feeling strong, and ready for this weekend’s competition! Several players from last year are back, and a few new athletes have joined this year’s line-up. According to Team PEI Soccer coach, Kieran Goodwin “it’s a group that’s willing to work hard and they all get along really well.”

Tyson just started playing soccer about two years ago with us. The level that he’s gone from whenever he’s never played the game before is astronomical. I’ve never seen someone pick up the sport as quickly as Tyson, and I am very proud of him for that. Tyson gives us his all every time he steps on the pitch. We really rely on Tyson to get the ball forward, and to score goals. We are very thankful to have Tyson as part of our team.

Provincial Games had an added layer of excitement for Tyson this year as he celebrated his birthday on Friday night. Tyson was one of two birthdays for Team PEI this weekend as Matthew Gallant from Team PEI Swimming was also celebration. Both Tyson and Matthew got the chance to celebrate with all of Team PEI on Friday evening.
