Dion Phaneuf
Retired NHL player
Dion Phaneuf has become a marque celebrity guest of the Enriching Lives Gala. A true supporter of the Special Olympics movement, Dion has made use of his personal connections and network to help grow the Enriching Lives Gala, assisting in making Special Olympics PEI’s signature fundraising event a must attend event in PEI. Dion was drafted 9th overall in the 2003 NHL entry draft. During his 14 year NHL career he played for the Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, where he served as Team Captain, Ottawa Senators, and Los Angeles Kings. Dion is a three-time NHL All-Star. He officially announced his retirement from the NHL in November 2021.
Elisha Cuthbert
Actress & Model
Elisha Cuthbert is a longtime support of Special Olympics PEI, and her presence at the Enriching Lives Gala is much anticipated each year. Elisha is the recipient of several film and TV industry awards, including a Gemini, 4 Teen Choice Awards, and 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her films include The Girl Next Door, Old School, Love Actually, Goon: Last of the Enforcers, and most recently, The Cellar and Bandit. Elisha's TV credits include playing Kimberly Bauer on the television show 24 and Abby on Netflick’s The Ranch.
Logan Robbins
Special Olympics PEI Athlete of the Year
Logan had another amazing year in his favorite SO sports: Basketball, Soccer, Golf, Speed Skating, and Wellness programs. Logan has matured throughout his time in Special Olympics, and is the first youth program graduate to progress to National Competition. At the 2024 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games he won 4 medals, and achieved 3 personal bests, all while cheering on athletes from other provinces.
Rolanda Bridges
Special Olympics PEI Athlete of the Year
Rolanda has been with Special Olympics for 16 years, participating in 5-Pin bowling and Bocce. She is passionate and takes her sports seriously. Rolanda did extremely well at National games winning 2 silver medals; one team and one individual! She is showing years of growth in her skills and how she deals with her emotions. Rolanda has overcome a lot in recent years, and is a true example of success from a lot of hard work and determination.
Max Jardine
Charlottetown Islanders
Max Jardine is a defenceman for the Charlottetown Islanders. He is from Miramichi, New Brunswick. He spent two and a half seasons with the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. In December of 2023 Max won a silver medal with Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge. He signed with the Islanders as a free agent in January of 2024. Max was the recipient of the QMJHL's Humanitarian of the Year Award for the 2024-2025 season.
Ross Campbell
Charlottetown Islanders
Ross Campbell plays Right Wing for the Charlottetown Islanders. Originally from Souris, PEI, Ross joined the Islanders in the 2022-2023 season. During the 2024-2025 season Ross played 52 games and had 22 goals and 36 assists, for a total of 58 points.
Cheryl Bernard
Canadian Olympic Curler
Cheryl Bernard is an accomplished Canadian athlete and business leader. She is a two-time Olympian and led Team Canada to a silver medal in curling at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. From 2014-2023 she was a dedicated curling broadcaster with TSN. Cheryl is the President and CEO of Canada's Sport Hall of Hall. A truly supporter of the Special Olympics movement, Cheryl played a significant role as co-chair of the 2024 Special Olympics Winter Games in Calgary. She was also named Honorary Coach of Special Olympics Team Canada for the Special Olympics World Games in Turin, Italy in March 2025.
Callum McEwen
Special Olympics Team Canada 2025
Callum McEwan, Charlottetown, has been a Special Olympics athlete for 7 years. Callum joined Special Olympics to support his participation in the sport of Figure Skating, being drawn to the inclusiveness Special Olympics provides. Callum recently competed in Figure Skating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 where he earned a bronze medal.
Ellen MacNearney
Special Olympics Team Canada 2025
Ellen MacNearney has been involved with Special Olympics for 15 years. Over the years Ellen has experienced tremendous success in sport. Ellen is a natural athlete, one who exemplifies the term multi-sport athlete. The Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 were Ellen's second World Winter Games, having also represented Canada at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Pyeongchang 2013. Ellen earned 3 gold medals as a member of Special Olympics Team Canada 2025!
Tommy Ling
Special Olympics Team Canada 2025
Tommy Ling has been a Special Olympics athlete for 10 years. Tommy is no stranger to competition having competed at 5 Special Olympics National Games. He competed at the 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 Winter Games in the sport of Cross Country Ski, and the 2018 Summer Games in the sport of Bocce. Tommy recently competed in Cross Country at the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 where he earned a silver medal.
