How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I think I joined Special Olympics basketball in 2009 and track in 2011, so about 12 years ago.

How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?

I have made many friends, enjoyed travelling nationally and internationally and gained confidence in my athletic abilities.

How have you been preparing yourself for competition?

I train several times a week running, weight lifting, stretching, sit-ups and push-ups and more.

What is the biggest challenge you've overcome in your life?

Learning that hard training and sticking with it really pays off. I had to learn a running strategy and begin believing that I could go faster.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am proud to have won a gold medal at both summer and winter Special Olympics World Games.

What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?

Representing Canada at Special Olympics World Games makes me proud and I like socializing with other athletes.
