When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

Winter 2016: helping out with the local snowshoeing program, which my brother competes in.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?

Yes.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

It's pretty special to be part of such a great community and seeing these remarkable athletes, but most of all it means a lot that my brother will be there too.

What is/are your goal(s) for these National Games?

My goal is to help the athletes succeed in their goals, and hopefully continue getting to coach at the world level.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

My favourite moment was while my brother was away competing at the 2017 World Games in Austria, and getting sent the photo of the scoreboard with the finishing times, and seeing my brother had earned the No. 2 spot in the world.

What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)

This is my first National Games, but I know it is a huge proud moment for them, and offers a great sense of accomplishment.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

It's a fantastic program that gives its athletes a sense of purpose and something to strive for.
