When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

Friends of my parents introduced me to Special Olympics in 1996. My first sport was swimming. 

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

No. These aren't my first National Games. I took part in swimming in 2018 and cross country skiing in 2016.

What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

3rd place in 2.5 km event

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

I am proud to represent Surrey, B.C., in cross country skiing

What is your goal for these National Games?

My goal is to medal in my events.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

Commitment. Dedication. Chance to meet fellow athletes across the country. 

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

The scenery on the mountains. A variation of the ski course.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

The 2016 National Games in Newfoundland because it had good scenery. Never been to this part of the country. 

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

To stay healthy and active. Learn to eat nutritious. Meet new people and have fun.

What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?

Swimming and track and field.
