When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I have been involved for 24 years. I heard about the program and was excited to join.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

I competed at the 2018 National Summer Games in P.E.I in 5-pin bowling.

What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I won a team gold, got gold in high single, and gold for high average.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

I feel very honoured to be representing Dawson Creek and Team BC at these 2020 National Winter Games.

What is your goal for these National Games?

I want to achieve a personal best in my averages.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

I have worked very hard for many years to be one of the top bowlers in our sport nationally. I want to bring home good results in hopes it inspires others to do the same.

I like the teams, the people, making new friends and the competition.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Winning the gold medal at the 2018 National Bowling Championships in P.E.I.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

Give the sports a try and give it a chance to learn a new sport. The people are great and you get to make new friends.

What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?

Club Fit.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Confident!
