When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

Over 20 years ago as a volunteer helping our son in speed skating.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?

Corner Brookin 2016 and Thunder Bay 2020, both as an assistant coach

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

A great opportunity to train with our athletes and always an excellent personal learning experience.

What is/are your goal(s) for these National Games?

To empower and encourage our athletes, so they can reach their goals to the best of their ability.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Always seeing the smiles of athletes achieving their goals and having great memories of games!

What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)

A chance to compete and continuously train hard to develop skills towards achieving their personal best.

What storylines are you excited to see develop in your SO Team BC sport team leading up to the National Games?

That our athletes trained diligently on a continuous journey towards self improvement.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

An enriching and rewarding experience to make a difference in your community, in the spirit of giving.
