When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I've been cheering on my Uncle Gary who is an SO Saskatchewan athlete for many years! But I also had the opportunity to become a part of the SOBC staff team nine years ago and I love it!

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?

I have also attended the 2018 Summer Games and 2020 Winter Games.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

To me this is a very special team and National Games; proof that sport can and has kept us together. We can't wait to be back at competition and proving that though the pandemic may have slowed us for a bit we are back stronger and more inspired than ever!

What is/are your goal(s) for these National Games?

For the athletes to be as successful as they can be whether that be to say they were a part of SO Team BC for the first time, achieved a personal best, or will be bringing home a medal. To create a sport family environment that supports and cheers one another on no matter what!

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

There is no one experience that I favor more than another; I am continually inspired by our athletes and coaches in everything they do. I am just grateful that Special Olympics exists and I have the opportunity to be a part of so many incredible moments :)

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

If you are looking for a place to combine a love for sport, competition & personal growth opportunity – you will find it all, ten-fold, with Special Olympics!
