When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
2003 I got involved in Special Olympics. I got involved by word of mouth from friends.
Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
No, I was involved in 2008, 2016, and 2020.
What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?
Our results were first place in the A division. I felt empowered by my performance at the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?
It means another good chance to be able to make it to World Games.
What is your goal for these National Games?
My goal is to win and be able to go to World Games.
What does competing at National Games mean to you?
It means another good chance to be able to make it to World Games.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
I like that it is a team sport and we compete as a team.
What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?
If you really enjoy sports and need to get out and make friends this is the best way of doing it.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I work full-time at a recycling depot, along with going to start school and taking accounting.
