When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?
18 years old, referred by a family member.
Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?
I've been to Prince Edward Island for 5-pin bowling.
What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?
We won gold and I felt happy.
What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?
I am proud and excited to be part of my team.
What is your goal for these National Games?
To have fun, try my best and hopefully win a medal.
What does competing at National Games mean to you?
I am proud to be part of a team and experience new things.
What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?
Team friendships, having fun, and getting exercise.
What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?
Come out and try to see if you like it and meet new people and make new friends.
Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?
I like to help with Special Olympics fundraising activities. I work at a nursery and have been working there for 37 years. I also volunteer at MCC.
