When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

My mom was told about Special Olympics when she took me to my horse riding lesson and heard about it from Donna Bilous. I've been in Special Olympics since 2008.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

I competed in soccer at the 2014 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Vancouver where my team won the gold medal in Division A.

What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

My team and I won a gold medal in floor hockey and I felt great about my performance because it was the best I ever felt when playing.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

The chance to represent my province at the national level.

What is your goal for these National Games?

Having fun and trying to win a medal in floor hockey.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

The chance to compete at the national level with the best teams across Canada which normally we would not have the chance to do.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

Making saves to stop the puck when playing goalie.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

That is a chance to be part of a community to socialize with and achieve personal bests and goals.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I am a student currently at the University of the Fraser Valley in the Computer Information Systems Diploma program with an expected graduation date of December 2023. Other sports I do are soccer, swimming, and softball. I went to the Special Olympics Games 2015 for soccer. I also competed at the BC Summer Games 2018 Cowichan Valley in the Special Olympics category for swimming where I got 6 gold medals and I also competed at the 2022 Canada Summer Games in swimming.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Awesome.
