When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I started nine years ago when a friend asked me to give it a try, and I kept up with it ever since.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

This will be my third National Games. I have previously competed in track at the 2018 Summer Games in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and speed skating at the 2020 Winter Games in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I proudly brought home gold in the 333m, 500m, and the relay and silver in the 777m races. I felt really good about my performance.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

It means a great deal to be recognized for my accomplishments and have a chance to represent B.C. on and off the ice in the sport I love.

What is your goal for these National Games?

My goal is to train hard, beat my personal best, have fun, and hopefully be selected for Team Canada for the World Games in Italy.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

It means a lot to me. Competing at Nationals means I have an opportunity to be the best that I can be and to make my province and team proud.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I love the feeling of soaring across the ice with the cool wind on my face. It’s exhilarating! I would tell someone that it has helped improve my life.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

You'll meet new friends, be active and it will help put you on the path of a healthy lifestyle. Maybe you’ll find a sport that you love like me.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

Well for starters, I have an identical twin brother who is also on the SO Team BC speed skating team. My favourite colour is green, and I enjoy drawing, animation, playing video games, and hiking in the forest. I’m mentoring in animation, and I’m going to school part-time for IT. I also like hanging out and watching movies with my friends and enjoy learning about folklore and mythology from all over the world.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Humorous.
