Prince George.

When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I started swimming in Prince George around 15 to16 years ago – around 2007.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

I was in Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in swimming in Vancouver in 2014.

What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I got three golds (1600 metre, 800 metre, 400 metre) and one bronze (200 metre) in the top division for men's snowshoeing. I am happy with the results but would like to do better.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

I'm proud and happy to represent Prince George and B.C.

What is your goal for these National Games?

I want to have a personal best time in all my events and represent B.C. well.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

I want to be in my best shape and work hard to make my province proud.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I love racing and the fitness that is needed to compete.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

Special Olympics helps me be healthy and fit. I love meeting all the wonderful coaches, volunteers, athletes from other communities, and SO staff.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I love to travel to different places. I have a wonderful family and great friends.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself?

Positive.
