When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

In 2019 I started with bowling then snowshoeing, Club Fit, and track.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

Yes this will be my first Special Olympics Canada Games.

What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

One gold in the 400 metre, silver in the 1600 metre, and silver in the 800 metre. I put in my best effort and was very pleased with my results and there’s room for improvement

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

I am very proud to have made the team and excited to meet new people from different provinces.

What is your goal for these National Games?

To have personal bests and medals and meet new athletes.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

Showcasing my athleticism and sportsmanship to other provinces.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I love running outdoors, it keeps me in good health.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

Meet new people, have lots of laughs, be included, and make new friendships.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I am an aunty to a wonderful five-year-old nephew named Roman. I have worked at the Vernon Superstore for two years, my favourite food is sushi, I am an excellent chef, and laundry is my passion.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Passionate.
