When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I first got involved with Special Olympics when I was figure skating with the North Surrey Skating Club about 12 years ago.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

I competed in Level 1 figure skating at the National Games in 2012.

What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I got a bronze medal. I was proud of my performance.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

I am very excited and proud to be a part of Team BC again.

What is your goal for these National Games?

To do my best and have fun.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

It means I have worked hard and it's helping me do better.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I love to figure skate because it is fun to spin and do spirals and learn to do some jumps and fancy turns.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

I had a wonderful time in St. Albert and I'm really looking forward to Thunder Bay. I am glad I made the team, that was very special to me.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

You meet a lot of nice people and get to go to different places when you compete.

What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?

I do track and field, I swim, I play golf, and I do rhythmic gymnastics, all with Special Olympics!

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I work at the White Spot three days a week and I volunteer at a seniors residence as well as at our local elementary school. I take lessons and play the piano. I am part of the Semiahmoo House Society SAS group (self-advocates) as well as their Toastmasters group. I like to travel and my best trip so far was to Mexico with the Semiahmoo House Rec program.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Busy!
