When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

Three years ago. I was looking to do some volunteer work in a sport that I enjoy.

Will this be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games were you part of and in what role(s)?

It is! I am really excited about it.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

The ability to see this team over the last three years be seen on a national level is quite amazing.

What is/are your goal(s) for these National Games?

Have the team win gold and have a great time.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Whether it's curling or softball, it's great to see their passion and improvement week over week.

What does competing at National Games mean to your athletes? (or, if this is your first National Games, competition in general)

Most of the team has gone before. They have been working so hard and win it all.

What storylines are you excited to see develop in your Team BC sport team leading up to the National Games?

We had a really good training program to challenge our team this year. In past bonspiels, they have always finished first. We are bringing in experienced curlers to help deepen the learning and understanding of the sport.

What would you say about Special Olympics to encourage someone to get involved?

It will change your perspective in life. You will be walking away from every week of training with a smile on your face.
