When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I've been with Special Olympics for 21 years. I first started playing softball in 2000 because some of my friends were.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

This will be my second time going to the National Games. The first time was in Quebec for curling in 2008 when my team brought home the gold.

What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

The team received the gold medal. I was very excited and I know we did our best.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

It means the world to me, I'm very excited about being part of Special Olympics Team BC and I am going to do my very best to represent B.C.

What is your goal for these National Games?

My goal is to come back home with another gold medal.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

It means a lot to me. I get to make Canada and B.C. proud.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I love 5-pin bowling because I get to bowl with teammates and encourage them to do their best and have fun.

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

Bringing the gold medal home from the Provincial Winter Games.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

I encourage them to come and check out the different sports and just enjoy themselves.

What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?

I am also involved with basketball and bocce.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I live with my parents. I work at McDonald's two days a week and go to college two days a week. In my spare time I like taking my dog out for a walk, and enjoy working on dot-to-dot books.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Fantastic.
