SOBC Swimming Coach Development Webinar

Adding to our online coach education opportunities, Special Olympics BC will be hosting a virtual SOBC Swimming Coach Development Webinar on April 14, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. PT! This workshop will be open to all Special Olympics BC swimming coaches. Everything discussed can be modified to work for any level of athlete.

These sport-specific workshops are for coaches only. Please register by clicking here. The registration deadline is Sunday, April 11 at 12 p.m. PT.

Please stay tuned to our website and social media channels for announcements of upcoming Coach Development Webinars in other sports!

SPEAKERS

Heather Young will use a video to present on how to develop the basic skill level of all athletes. As some of you heard on our last webinar, Heather Young will be moving to Japan at the end of May so this will be her second to last time presenting the videos that she produced for us. SOBC sport performance expert Jacques Thibault will present about how we keep our athletes active over the summer in hopes of returning to the pool in September. We also hope to share updated information from SOC on the time standards for swimming.

LOGISTICS

Participating coaches are asked to ensure you have your NCCP number ready so this webinar can be added to your NCCP Locker. If you do not have one, please email Lois McNary (SOBC Vice President, Sport) before the workshop and she will be happy to assist.

The webinar will be recorded for future SOBC resource use, but no participants will be required to have their electronic device's camera on to display themselves. If/when you wish to ask questions, you may do so via the messaging chat feature of the webinar; this and more will be discussed during the webinar introduction.

Participants are asked to join the webinar 5 minutes before the official start time in order to allow time to test and set up technical requirements.
