Registering as a Volunteer

1.  Open the following link in a new tab: https://portal.specialolympics.ca/volunteer-process/new-volunteer-enrollment

 

2. Input relevant personal identification.  Press 'Next Step- Validate Member'.

 

 

3. Press 'Next Step- Waivers'

 

 

4. You must accept the first three waivers fields to move forward.  The next three fields, including the 'Media Release Waiver' are up to you.  When finished, press 'Next Step- Program Search.

 

 

5.  Use the Chapter, Region, and Community boxes and the 'Search' button to see what programs are available in your community.  Select a program using the checkbox on the left side of the page, and when finished press 'Next Step- Member Profile'.  *Please note that you can only add one program at a time.

 

 

6.  Fill in as many fields as you can, and when finished press 'Next Step- Address'.  Please note that you will not be able to continue if you leave any fields marked with a red asterisk blank.

 

 

7.  Fill in address information.  If you split time between two addresses, you can use the 'Secondary Address' section.  When finished, press 'Next Step- Criminal Record'.

 

 

8.  Use the 'Add' function to input Criminal Record Check information.  All volunteers with SOA are required to have a Criminal Record Check within the last 3 years.  When finished, press 'Next Step- Medical Information'.

 

 

9.  Fill in Medical Information. When finished, press 'Next Step- Emergency Contacts'.

 

 

10.  Use the 'Add' button to input emergency contact information.  When finished, press 'Next Step- Member Training'.

 

 

11.  Use the 'Add' button to input any training courses, such as NCCP, leadership or CPR, that you have taken.  When finished, press 'Next Step- Volunteer Profile'.

 

 

12.  Fill in volunteer information.  Use the 'Add' button to input reference information.  When finished, press 'Next Step-  Enrollment Details'

 

13.  Review Enrollment Details and use the 'Category' field to select your volunteer role.  When finished, select, 'Next Step-  Submit Enrollment'.  

 

 

14.  Press 'Go to Portal Registration'.

 

 

15.  Enter the information you used to set up an account and password, then press 'Register'.  Follow the link in the email sent to your account to access your account.  When finished, you can navigate to THIS PAGE for instructions on how to add further program enrollments.
