Special Olympics Canada is excited to announce the successful associate coach applicants who will be a part of Special Olympics Team Canada heading to the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, UAE in March. These 14 individuals were chosen based on an extensive selection criteria and subsequent interviews from a pool of over 150 qualified applicants. Special Olympics Canada would like to thank all applicants for their time and commitment in the application process and congratulations to the selected individuals!

“Selecting a team of coaches to represent Special Olympics Canada is both a humbling and challenging experience,” said Mike Greek, Chef de Mission for the 2019 Special Olympics Team Canada. The depth of talent across the country but limited team positions, leaves many great coaches on the sideline. We are confident that the right coaches are in place to deliver world class preparation for our athletes, and continue the excellence on and off the field of play that is expected from and of Special Olympics in Canada.”

The 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games will take place in Abu Dhabi, UEA from March 14 – 21, 2019. Special Olympics Team Canada will be chosen based on their respective sport performances at the upcoming Special Olympics Canada 2018 Bowling Championships in Charlottetown, PEI as well as the Special Olympics Canada 2018 Summer Games in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
