Evan James hails from Edmonton, Alberta and recently competed in his very first Special Olympics World Games in Austria in March of 2017. An accomplished athlete who has been involved with Special Olympics for the past 12-years, Evan was a force on the speed skating track, winning a gold and silver medal in his races. Ever the kind soul, Evan says he is extremely “thankful for the opportunity” to be able to compete and show the world his skills and talents in the arena.
Evan credits Special Olympics with helping to change his life by allowing him to learn not only more about the sports he loves, but to get physically and mentally stronger and to help achieve his personal goals and strive to do his best. When Evan isn’t participating in sports with Special Olympics, Evan loves biking, snowboarding, paintballing and training for his next Special Olympics competition!
