Closing Ceremonies

Highlights from March 24, 2017


• As the Games wrapped up, only a few events remained for Team Canada.
• Speed skaters finished competition with the 333m – Amiee Gordon and Philip Ste Marie both won bronze medals.
• The final floor hockey games were played yesterday and both Team Canada East and West rounded out their World Games experience with silver medals.
• Cross country skiiers finished the day with 2 golds, 2 silver and 4 bronze in the 2.5km classic
• Snowshoers competed in the 400m and 1600m races and came out with 3 silvers and a bronze in the 400m and 2 golds and a bronze in the 1600m.
• All Team Canada athletes rounded out their World Games experience at the closing ceremony last night. They danced, they celebrated and they soaked up the final moments of Games before being feted back on home soil!


Interesting Facts


● Figure Skater Robert Fougere is 44 years young and only started skating 4 years ago. At these games he competed in the level 3 division and won a silver medal!
● Team Canada finished the Games strong, with a total medal count of 117 medals – 47 Gold, 43 Silver and 27 Bronze! GO CANADA GO!
