Meet Special Olympics BC Volunteer, Dorothy Franson

Dorothy Volunteer

Hardworking Special Olympics BC – Chilliwack Program Coordinator Dorothy Franson is inspired by the amazing athletes in her Local, who she says always try their best and do a great job of supporting each other.

Franson first got involved with Special Olympics when her daughter Melinda signed up as a bowling athlete. In her almost 20 years with SOBC, Franson has worked to make a difference in a number of roles, including Local Coordinator and Treasurer. She loves working with the friendly athletes in her Local and she appreciates how Special Olympics provides them with social opportunities.

As Head Coach of SOBC – Chilliwack’s bocce program, Franson is dedicated to helping athletes develop their skills. She looks forward to supporting the team as they compete in the 2017 SOBC Summer Games in Kamloops in July.
