Special Olympics Saskatchewan Powerlifting Provincials were hosted April 15th at the Saskatchewan Powerlifting Association’s Synergy Open in Saskatoon. Five Special Olympics athletes, three from Regina and two from Saskatoon, competed at the event for Special Olympics Saskatchewan Provincial medals.
All our athletes who competed did fantastic, several athletes even beating their personal bests and provincial records! Huge congratulations to Ben Sheard for receiving a gold medal for his performance in the 66kg weight class, Jordan Seitz for his amazing performance in the 74kg weight class, Thomas Wright on his silver in the 74kg weight class, Braden Skilliter for his gold in the 74kg weight class, and Aaron Higgins on his gold in the 105kg weight class.
The rest of the Special Olympics summer sports will be competing in Provincials in Moose Jaw on June 16th-18th, 2017. Stay tuned for those results!
