LETR Polar Plunge - Charlottetown

Freezing for a Reason!

We have a very “cool” way for you to raise monies and awareness for Special Olympics PEI!  The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) for Special Olympics is the movement's largest grass-roots fundraising and public awareness vehicle in the world. In PEI, the LETR has raised over $200,000 over the past 25yrs to support the grass-roots sport development Special Olympics PEI does so well.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge is the LETR’s most daring fundraising event. Individuals, alongside law enforcement volunteers will experience heartwarming and bone chilling extremes as they take the plunge into icy PEI waters in Summerside and into an outdoor pool  in Charlottetown while raising funds for the 350 plus Special Olympics Athletes in Prince Edward Island.

Over the past 5 years we have had many Special Olympics PEI athletes, volunteers and families take the plunge.  NEW  this year is every  dollar raised by a Special Olympics PEI registered member will go directly towards the fundraising efforts in their community.  For example, if I am an athlete from Souris and I raise $200, those monies would go towards the Kings County fundraising line in the SOPEI budget.  This is another way to raise monies and support established events on PEI for your community.

We are asking that you consider signing up to support this event and whether you plunge, sponsor, cheer or spread the word, you’ll be helping us build a bigger, better and COOLER community for all our Special Olympics athletes.  Event details are included in the Plunger Package.

Still not Sure?

Check out this Polar Plunge Video to see how taking the plunge will be the coolest thing you will do this year!
