JYSK Canada’s Champions Start at Home Campaign in Support of Special Olympics Canada Begins Today!

TORONTO, ON, September 1, 2015 – Special Olympics Canada and JYSK Canada kick off the Champions Start at Home campaign today.  From September 1 to 30, 2015, JYSK Canada customers will be able to make in-store donations to support Special Olympics through Champions Start at Home.   JYSK Canada will promote the importance of Special Olympics programs for individuals with an intellectual disability in communities throughout Canada.

“We are proud and honoured to be a national partner of Special Olympics since 2006 and our continued association with the very worthwhile Champions Start at Home campaign. JYSK Canada customers have a chance to make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities in their community, simply by making a donation at the till at any one of our JYSK Canada locations,” said Lynne Williams, director of advertising, JYSK Canada.

Special Olympics Canada provides world-class sport programming for individuals with an intellectual disability throughout the country, allowing them to experience the transformative power and joy of sport. Special Olympics Canada, provides programming 365 days a year in over 450 communities across Canada from grassroots sport opportunities and competition to elite athletic training and sport events. JYSK Canada’s 11 years of support have helped countless Special Olympics athletes achieve their full potential and reveal the champion inside. This year’s campaign will also feature in-store activations with Special Olympics athletes such as bake sales and barbeques.

Special Olympics Canada athlete and  JYSK Canada employee, Catherine Partlow, from Whitby, Ontario, was a member of Team Canada at the recent 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles, California from July 25 to August 2, 2015. Partlow brought home 3 gold medals from her athletics races, the 100-metre, 200-metre and 4×400 relay.  A proud member of Special Olympics Team Canada and JYSK Canada’s team, she is one of the featured athletes in the flyer and on posters for this year’s campaign.
