Highlights from the Opening Ceremonies!

Let the Games begin! Over 2,000 athletes from across the country marched in the athletes’ parade to officially open the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games on July 8, 2014!  Cheering them on were celebrity athletes Jamie Sale, Catriona Le May Doan, Willie Mitchell, Mark Tewksbury and Jake Gardiner.  Fans and supporters were loud and proud, celebrating the achievements of all the athletes in attendance and gearing up for the week of competition ahead. The opening ceremonies were held at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sport Centre and featured amazing performances by Tyson Venegas and Victoria Duffield.
