Celebrating 1.2 Million Unified Sports Teammates across the Globe!

Special Olympics is thrilled to announce, as a movement, we officially have 1.2 million Unified Teammates, surpassing the goal of 1 million set out in 2011. We are changing the world 1 game at a time, and could not be more proud to celebrate the 1.2 million Unified Sports teammates throughout the globe. Unified sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team and playing field – bringing people together and breaking down stereotypes, through sport. Today, the Movement celebrates an incredible feat, joining together to create positive social inclusion, friendships and improved attitudes of people with and without intellectual disabilities through the power of Unified Sport.
