WHAT A GAMES! The Special Olympics Canada 2018 Summer Games are officially a wrap, after 4 days of intense competition and incredible feats of sportsmanship. Our athletes truly put their best foot forward and had an incredible week of personal bests and heart-fought battles. We officially wrapped up the Games with an awesome Closing Ceremony that saw the flame of hope extinguished and passed on to the next host city of Thunder Bay for the 2020 Winter Games. Athletes then celebrated their week of sport by dancing the night away. These Games would not have been possible without the incredible support from all our partners and sponsors (shoutout to Games co-presenting sponsors Michelin and Sobeys!) and of course, the Government of Canada. Thank you to the incredible volunteers who helped ensure everything went off without a hitch, the Games Organizing Committee who put in years of work to ensure these Games happened, the friends and families who came from far and wide to take in the action and of course, the ATHLETES for competing with heart, courage, determination and pride for your respective provinces. It was a privilege to watch you and thank you for sharing your passion for sport with us! And now, we sleep!
